The Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video interface standard designed to maximize the visual quality of digital display devices such as flat panel LCD computer displays, digital projectors, TFT monitors and is designed for carrying uncompressed digital video data to a display.

This DVI-A cable connects your graphics card to a SVGA monitor, TFT screen, LCD, Plasma TV or a projector. This cable provides analogue signal only, not digital. If your graphics card supports both SVGA and DVI ports, you can add a second monitor and take advantage of a two screen setup.
